NICHOLVILLE — Volunteers from 10 fire departments helped battle a blaze on State Highway 11B Sunday morning.
Hopkinton-Fort Jackson Fire Department responded to a report of a fully involved structure fire around 8 a.m.
“Members from 10 different departments worked into the morning battling a stubborn wind driven fire, according to Hopkinton FT. Jackson Fire Department’s Facebook page. “We would like to thank Nicholville, Lawrenceville, North Lawrence, Parishville, Tri Town Rescue, Brasher Winthrop, West Stockholm, St Regis Falls, Dickinson, and Brushton Fire as well as the numerous standby departments”
Volunteers from the Central & Northern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to one person after a fire Sunday morning on NY Route 11B in Nicholville, St. Lawrence County.
“The teamwork and skill shown by these departments prevented a much worse situation from taking place,” the Hopkinton FT Jackson Fire Department page said. “We owe tremendous thanks to those that fed firefighters on scene and to our fire police who kept the scene safe on a busy section of road.”
