The Liberty League announced its annual award winners and All-Conference teams for football on Tuesday and St. Lawrence University had 13 student-athletes earn accolades. Meanwhile, head coach Mark Raymond and his staff was voted the 2010 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

Raymond and his staff guided St. Lawrence to the school's first Liberty League title with a 5-1 conference record in his first season at the helm. The Saints led all teams in scoring defense, turnover margin, total defense, sacks for, and sacks against in Liberty League play. Raymond is assisted by Kevin Farr, Scott Brisson, Aland Joseph, Jeff Dittman, Dan Puckhaber, Tom Blumenauer and Dave Celeste.

"It's truly a great honor for the players and our staff, as everybody shares in these awards as a team," said Coach Raymond. "Individual awards are great, but a conference championship means everything to us and we're looking forward to our game against Mount Union. I want to recognize the great job that our staff has done in preparing our athletes throughout the season, as they've made the difference."

St. Lawrence had three student-athletes earn First Team honors, including senior captain Nate Howard, junior Trevor Saunders and first-year standout Victor Coker Jr. Howard anchored a defensive line that led St. Lawrence to the top rush defense and the most sacks in the league. The Durham, NH native has 44 tackles entering the NCAA Playoffs including a team-high 5.5 sacks.

Saunders is second on the roster with 75 tackles and leads the squad with 12 pass break-ups in the secondary. Coker Jr. made an immediate impact along the offensive line for St. Lawrence. The Syracuse, NY native is a two-time Rookie of the Week selection, and helped solidify an offensively line that graduated four seniors in 2009.

Six Saints were awarded Liberty League Second Team honors, including senior captains Ben Cryts and Tim Robinson and a quartet of juniors including Doug Geraghty, Ethan Sutton, Marcus Washington and Matt Dodge. Cryts showed great versatility in 2010, as he is third on the Saints roster with 57 tackles including 6.5 for a loss while posting four interceptions. Geraghty was also a dynamic player along the defensive front, as he started in all 10 games and shares the team lead in tackles for a loss with 8.5. The Selden, NY native made 4.0 sacks, broke up three passes and forced a team-high three fumbles.

Sutton became one of the league's top offensive players in 2010, as he was top-5 in the conference in all-purpose yards (t-5th), yards per play (1st) and receiving yards per game (5th). The South Paris, ME native leads the team in touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards and yards per game. Washington emerged as the team's go-to running back this season, as he had career-highs with 769 yards rushing, 173 carries and three touchdowns while averaging nearly 80 yards per game. The Pahokee, FL native broke the University single-game rushing record with 256 yards on the ground against WPI last Saturday.

Robinson has been one of the premier blocking and pass-catching tight ends in the league over the past two seasons. In 10 games this season, the Voorheesville, NY native caught 20 balls for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Dodge also had a career season as the primary place kicker for the Saints in 2010. The Meredith, NH native was 6-for-7 on field goal tries in the regular season while leading the team with 35 points.

Finally, St. Lawrence had four players earn Honorable Mention status from the Liberty League. Sophomore Don Rohauer and first-year student Brayden Henry collected All-Conference honors after both had outstanding years along the offensive line in 2010 at the left tackle and center positions. Senior Ryan Fedo, who leads St. Lawrence with 87 tackles including 8.5 for a loss was an Honorable Mention choice as was safety Brendan McCarthy, who has 48 tackles and shares the team lead with four interceptions.
