Junior co-captain Ralph Temgoua scored 24 points, but the Keuka College Storm came from behind to take the 52-51 victory over the St. Lawrence University men's basketball team in Keuka Park, NY on Saturday night.
The Saints fall to 3-5 on the season while the Storm improves to 1-8.
Temgoua's 24 points led all scorers, while he also added six rebounds. Sophomore Kyle Miller added 11 points and junior Garrett Sharlow recorded seven points, 11 rebounds and six steals.
Both teams exchanged leads several times in the first half and with six seconds to play, the Saints took a 32-30 advantage on a three-pointer by Miller going into the locker room.
In the second half, the Scarlet and Brown took their largest lead of the game on another three-pointer by Miller to bring the score to 49-41 with under 10:00 minutes to go. The Saints were unable to hang on to their advantage, having several chances to expand their lead going into the final minute but could not convert. Keuka's Putter Brown made two free throws down the stretch, giving the Storm a 52-51 victory and its first win of the season.
The Saints will look to rebound on Tuesday, January 4th when they travel to Brockport College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
