(Canton, N.Y.)- Junior Michael Zelyez (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) has been named the Sunrise Conference Player of the Week in baseball after leading the Roos to a 2-2 week.
The outfielder drew three walks, scored twice and laced a single in a 10-0 win over Vermont Technical College in game one on Saturday. He also had a single and a stolen base in the nightcap which went to 13 innings. On Sunday, Zelyez went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run in an opening game loss to the Green Knights and closed out the weekend with a solo home run, a triple and three runs in a 14-2 win.
