(Rochester, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men's ice hockey team won their second game of the weekend as they routed the University of Rochester 10-4 Saturday night.
The Roos improved to 2-0 in the Eastern Collegiate Hockey League and over and will host Binghamton University on Sunday at 3:30 at the Canton Pavilion.
"I thought we moved the puck very well tonight," said head coach Eric McCambly. "We just need to stay mentally focused to play a third game in three days on Sunday against a good Binghamton team."
John Payne (Port Moody, B.C.) scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Roos against Rochester. Rob Liggio (Canton, N.Y.) also had four points with one goal and three assists.
Chris Giczewski (Fountain Valley, Calif.) and Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) each scored twice and set up another goal. Adam Fedor (Orleans, Ontario), Darren Camp (Canton, N.Y.) and Doug Burns (Manchester, N.H.) also scored.
Jimmy Merrow (Plainsboro, N.J.) stopped nine shots over two periods and Chris Lee (Gansevoort, N.Y.) had eight saves in the third period.
Ryan Williamson had one goal and three assists for Rochester.
