Webster, NY - Senior Brendan Hofler (Glen Gardner, NJ) produced the best finish overall for the Clarkson University Swim team on Thursday evening, closing out the second day of the UNYSCSA Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center.

Through 20 events, Clarkson's men stand firmly in ninth place among 13 teams with 170 points, while the women are in 14th out of 14 teams having tallied 84 points.

Hofler highlighted the second day of the regionals with a 13th place finish in the 400 individual medley, reaching the touch pad in 4:23.99. Two others also qualified for the finals on Thursday, as Bob Stevens (Lakewood, NY) finished 22nd in the 100 butterfly (54.09), and Emma Bonan (Queensbury, NY) came in 23rd in the 200 freestyle (2:03.48) for the women's team.

While the individual efforts helped, the relays were where the Golden Knights scored the most points. The 200 freestyle relay team of Aaron Kreher (Clarence, NY), Nick Clemens (Lowville, NY), Stevens, and Paul Telesca (Liverpool, NY) took eight in 1:28.55, and the team of Sean Parnett (Clifton Park, NY), Hofler, Kane Streichert (Norwich, NY), and Mitchell Maciuba (Clarence, NY) finished 24th. The 400 medley relay bested the finish of the 200 freestyle by one spot, as the four-man group of Mike Rowe (Glenville, NY), Chris Plummer (Spencerport, NY), Stevens, and Telesca took seventh in 3:37.67. Stephen Maxwell (Latham, NY), Barry Pawlowski (Cheektowaga, NY), Streichert, and Kreher came in 24th in that event as well. For the women, the team of Caitlin Joyce (Walden, NY), Colleen Daly (Manlius, NY), Nikki Pera (Jamison, PA) and Kelsey Jones (Kattskill Bay, NY) took 14th in the 200 freestyle (1:50.88), and a group that consisted of Pera, Anne Hawn (Gouverneur, NY), Bonan, and Joyce placed 13th in the 400 medley relay (4:26.73).

The top finishers for the Knights in events where no Clarkson swimmers were able to reach the finals were Kimberlee Stillittano (Binghamton, NY), who finished 26th in the 400 individual medley, Bonan, who took 29th in the 100 butterfly, and Parnett, who placed 33rd in the men's 200 freestyle.
