St. Lawrence University's men's squash team lost 9-0 at fifth-ranked Cornell on Sunday and will take a 10-7 record into a dual match at 11th ranked Williams on Saturday.
The Saints, ranked 13th nationally, took the Big Red beyond three games in two of the ten matches on Saturday. Cornell's Thomas Spettigue came from two down against Vir Seth at three to win 3-2 and Pat Brady beat Russell Woeltz 3-1 at nine.
Seth won games one and two in his match, 15-13 and 11-8, but Spettigue rallied with 11-7, 11-9 and 11-3 wins to take the match. Brady and Woeltz traded 11-9 wins at nine before Brady put the match away with two 11-3 game wins.
Nicholas Sachvie of Cornell beat Alex Dodge at one, Alex Domenick topped Amay Merchant at two, Rishi Jalan won a tight match with Will Campo 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 at four and David Hilton turned back Jermaine Xaba at five. McKay Claghorn beat Michael Badali 3-0 at six, Steven Peever took three straight 11-6 games from Tyler stout at seven and Owen Butler beat Thoma Kraft 3-0 at eight. Chris Stinson of Cornell beat the Saints' Max Frew in the exhibition match at ten.
