GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was arrested Jan. 2 after allegedly stealing a purse during an alleged domestic dispute, according to Gouverneur police.
Tyler J. Shaw, 22, was arrested at 2:56 p.n. for first-degree criminal contempt,felony, third-degree robbery, felony, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment, police said.
He was reportedly involved in a physical domestic at 36 Spencer St. and pushed the victim twice, stole her purse by forcibly taking the purse and forced her outside the residence, officers said.
All of this happened while the victim has a no harassment order of protection protecting her from the defendant, police said.
The incident reportedly took place in the presence of a child.
Shaw was arrested and was found to be in possession of heroin/fentanyl and cocaine, officers said.
He was arraigned at the Gouverneur Town Court before Judge Stanley Young and held on $2,500 cash at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
