To the Editor:
Not sure how many people have read the article about the interim town clerk in Canton dropping out of the election race, but there is an article explaining why Karin Blackburn has withdrawn from the Canton town clerk race in November.
I am saddened by the actions of some people, but I am again voicing my opinion that although Karin was not the best candidate for that position, the shame goes on the town supervisor, MaryAnne Ashley and the members of the town council.
They appointed a person who was not familiar with the position and who has caused lots of stress for many people because she could not fulfill the duties of the town clerk. There are many issues that have come up in that office.
Karin was in over her head, albeit not altogether her fault. Keep this in mind in November, Vote Heidi Smith for Canton town clerk!
And come out and vote next week at the Democratic caucus to put Karen McAuliffe on the ballot for Canton town supervisor.
