To the Editor:

As a 15-year resident of Potsdam, I am writing to urge support for Margaret Garner Haggard for the St. Lawrence County Legislature’s Tenth District.

Margaret is a Potsdam native and retired special education and substitute teacher in our local schools. For more than 10 years, she served as the Acting Village Justice in Potsdam, working to help solve complex problems and supporting equal justice for all under the law.

As the incumbent legislative candidate, Margaret has gained valuable legislative experience and understands the impact of local governance on the lives of everyday citizens. She has shown a true commitment to the needs of the most vulnerable constituents in our community, most notably our seniors and children.

Margaret’s blend of civic passion, pragmatism and an enduring commitment to our community makes her the best candidate to represent the residents of District 10. Her service would be a great asset to the St. Lawrence County Legislature, and I urge residents within this district to vote for Margaret Garner Haggard.
