Please allow me to object to a couple of issues in the”Stefaniks Path To Victory” article that you ran in last weeks NCN.
First of all there was supposed to be a follow up piece on Tedra Cobbs path to victory but I have yet to see that. I either missed it when it ran or Maybe it was never printed. Not sure what happened!
Next, a campaign strategist of Stefaniks claimed that Elise has “wide support from Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.”
Wide support from Democrats? That’s simply not true! From Independents? Not likely!
And then, much to my surprise and dismay, a political science professor at Clarkson, Alexander Cohen, claimed that “oncumbents don’t lose!” How a professor could not know about Jimmy Carter, George Bush (the elder), Claudia Tenney and many other failed incumbents is astonishing. He then went on to say that he was not seeing any data that Stefanik was “soft somewhere”! Well, as Elise maintains a firm and tenacious grip on the presidents coat tails, and many polls indicate that this may be his last term, then Elise may very well tumble along with him! Could that data qualify as “soft”?
