Opinion: CPH Guild donates $20,000 to enhance hospital services

The Canton-Potsdam Hospital Guild would like to take this opportunity to thank area communities who have been instrumental in the success of our fundraising efforts. Our 2020 annual gift in the amount of $40,000 has been presented to Mr. David Acker as unrestricted to assist the hospital in reaching their goal of providing quality healthcare, and enhancing services.

Over the years, the guild has donated nearly $2 million dollars to benefit Canton-Potsdam Hospital and North Country residents. We couldn’t have done it without you.

The support of local businesses, individuals and those reaching beyond the north country contribute to the success of the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Guild. We focus our annual donation towards capital budget projects of highest priority as determined by CPH. In addition, proceeds fund the SUNY Canton Nursing Scholarship Program, Center for Cancer Care, Continuing Education Awards for CPH employees, and department mini grants.

Some of you may have participated in the golf tournament, soup luncheon, uniform and book sales, trivia night, book cart, and Christmas tree raffle. Other community outreach initiatives have included the Mother’s Day Baby Basket, and the Lifestyle and Wellness Day.

The Gift Shop continues to be our largest asset. Due to these uncertain times, the shop has been closed and the space made available for clinical purposes. We anticipate re-opening for business in the upcoming months. Our managers and volunteers look forward to helping you find unique products for that gift to someone special.

The guild’s success is due in large part to community members like you. Thank you for your assistance, whether it was volunteering at events, donating items, or financial funding. The Board of Directors look forward to your patronage in the coming year.
