Opinion: All must be taken with a grain of salt, says Potsdam resident

To the Editor:

In response to “Bring Civil Discourse Back to Political System” which appeared in the Sept. 4-10 issue of North Country This Week: I respectfully submit to you, when “civil discourse” returns to all members off the press (on all levels), and all politicians in all parties (local, county, state and federal levels), then and only then, should we say any person should be elected to any governmental office.

In my 80 plus years, I have observed that all politicians stretch the truth a bit to get elected, and usually when their mouth is moving all of the facts coming out cannot be verified.

However, my biggest disappointment, in the last number of years, has been that much of the press has moved into the same shameful practice.

All must be taken by each of us with a large grain of salt.
