Another cool and windy day is on tap for the North Country today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
This period of drier weather will continue until Sunday afternoon when rain showers associated with a warm front begin to enter the region, NWS says. A prolonged period of rain showers is expected to linger throughout the North Country through the first half of next week.
Expect a high temperature today around 64 with sunny skies, NWS says. The overnight low will be around 45.
The forecast through next Friday is as follows:
Sunday
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. South wind 3 to 6 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday Night
Showers likely, mainly between 8pm and 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 50. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday
Showers. High near 61. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Monday Night
Showers, mainly before 8pm. Low around 51. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
