Church & Community Program would like to thank Northern New York Community Foundation for its grant of $1,000 for food for our pantry. We used the funding in October to buy two deliveries of food from Food Bank of Central New York.
We received four pallets of wholesome foods – meat, fish, pasta, cereal, juices, vegetables and fruits for our pantry clients. In addition, the Food Bank added free fruit and high protein beans to our order. We greatly appreciate this boost at one of our busiest times of the year.
Our pantry serves those in need in the Towns of Canton, Clare, DeKalb, Hermon, and Russell. This includes the Villages of Richville, Rensselaer Falls and Heuvelton. Demand for food is high and the number of households turning to us for help continues to climb month over month.
In October, we provided food for 252 households consisting of 583 individuals. The food translates to enough for 8,745 meals.
Thanks to the generosity of Northern New York Community Foundation, we were able to keep an even flow of food. Thank you!
