Parishville-Hopkinton Central twins earn valedictorian and salutatorian honors

PARISHVILLE – Twin sisters at Parishville-Hopkinton Central School have been named valedictorian and salutatorian for the 2020-2021 school.

Emma and Kelly, daughters of Michael and Kristine Bloom, were named valeditorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Both girls have attended PHCS for the entirety of their primary and secondary education.

Emma will graduate with an Advanced Designation Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Mathematics and Science with local majors in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and Technology.Emma has been on High Honor Roll every year since 7th grade.

She has been a member of the National Honors Society since 9th grade, serving as the Society’s president this year.

Emma has also participated in Student Council, chorus, band, and attended Project Challenge her sophomore year. She was honored to attend Clarkson Horizons program in Grades 7, 8, and 10.In addition to academics, athletics have been an integral part of Emma’s life. She has played soccer, basketball, and softball.

Emma received Academic All Northern in all three sports. She has been captain of the soccer team for two consecutive years and captain for basketball and softball in her senior year. mma has been awarded multiple awards in these sports including First Team All Northern, Second Team All State, and Defensive MVP in soccer and Coaches’ Awards in basketball.

After graduation, animal-loving Emma will attend Clarkson University majoring in Biology and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Salutatorian Kelly will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Mathematics and Science with local majors in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and Technology.

Kelly has been on the High Honor Roll every year since 7th grade. She has been a member of the National Honor Society since 9th grade, and became the treasurer of the group her senior year. Kelly also participated in Student Council, band, and attended Project Challenge her sophomore year. She attended the Clarkson Horizons program in Grades 7, 8 and 10.

Kelly has been a three-season athlete since grade school. She plays soccer, basketball and softball, being a captain on ach team. She has been a scholar athlete every year, receiving Academic All Northern Awards. Other awards include 1st Team All Northern in soccer, Offensive MVP, as well as Coaches’ Awards for all three sports.

After graduation, Kelly will attend either the Coast Guard Academy for Marine and Environmental Science or Paul Smith’s for Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences.
