Susan Schrader, Fort Covington, an active North Country Chapter & member of the Board of Directors, received the Paul E. Harenberg Award, bestowed on a senior who has worked to train and educate others about the important issues and programs impacting seniors.
The award was given by The New York StateWide Senior Action Council, an organization dedicated to advocacy for the rights of seniors in the State, at its recent 51st Annual Convention in Saratoga Springs.
Ms. Schrader is also the who is the Volunteer Coordinator at Community Friendship, In just the past year, has arranged for several Informational luncheons, including:
Maximizing your Medicare/Maximize Your Access with Maria Alvarez and Marcus Harazin from NY StateWide Senior Action Council as speakers.
Sepsis Information Forum with speakers from the Office for the Aging, the Association on Aging in New York, and the Home Care Association of New York.
Navigating Long Term Care with speakers from the Alice Center, a Skilled Nursing Facility.
She also partners with Hospices to provide in-services held at Senior Housings to educate residents about MOLST forms and assists with their completion, as well as coordinates the distribution of Animatronic pets for cancer patients.
