POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health System congratulates Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Employees of the Quarter, Nanette Boak, RN, in the hospital’s Ambulatory Surgery unit; Adrienne Danenberger, RN, in the hospital’s Medical Surgical Unit; and Howard Gay, Grounds Attendant with the Environmental Services Department.

“Nan is an excellent nurse who is compassionate, caring, and calm with her patients and their families,” stated Director of Surgical Services Jeffrey Eckdahl, RN, BSN, MBA. “She is very knowledgeable about the unit and procedures, and is a willing resource whenever anyone has a question. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will steer you in the right direction. As a charge nurse, she knows what needs to happen and gets it done. We are lucky to have her.”

Adrienne Danenberger, RN, joined Canton-Potsdam Hospital in September 2016, and is noted as being an exemplary medical professional who is compassionate, patient, and an asset to the hospital. Her colleagues say she provides the kind of patient-centered care the hospital strives to deliver.[img_assist|nid=271413|title=Danenberger|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=150|height=209]

“Adrienne is a highly skilled and knowledgeable RN. She is genuinely caring and compassionate beyond measure, and she truly embodies what it means to provide patient-centered care,” noted Director of the Medical Surgical and Observation Units Laura Kiely, RN, BSN. “Adrienne is a joy to work with and we are honored to have her as a part of our team.”

Howard “Howie” Gay became part of the Canton-Potsdam Hospital team in October 2001. He is regarded as the epitome of a hard worker, having pride in everything he does, showing great attention to detail, and having an ear-to-ear smile.[img_assist|nid=271414|title=|desc=|link=none|align=middle|width=150|height=194]

“Howie is a one-person department who ensures our outdoor areas are well maintained and safe for patients and staff,” stated Environmental Services Director David Calderon. “He is out there every day with a sense of pride that is indicative of his upbeat personality and unwavering work ethic. While most of us have the benefit of working within temperature controlled buildings, Howie is out in the rain, humidity, snow, and freezing temperatures common in the North Country. These are facts I have never overlooked and appreciate beyond words. If I could clone someone, it would be him.”

Each Employee of the Quarter was presented with a dish garden, gift certificates, a memento pin, and a designated parking space for the next three months.
