POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health System congratulates Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Employee of the Quarter Thomas Burcume, Block Cutter/Van Driver with the Center for Cancer Care.
Burcume became part of the Canton-Potsdam Hospital team in February 2003. He is regarded as a man who goes beyond the extra mile to assist patients, and being a friend to everyone in the Cancer Center.
Director of Oncology Services Benjamin Hull said Burcume “embodies the kind of personal and selfless care we strive to offer in our community.”
“As the Center for Cancer Care Patient Driver, Tom often spends more time with patients than anyone else in the Cancer Center, and he uses this time to listen to our patients’ needs,” Hull said.
“When our patients are facing some of the most difficult seasons of life, Tom is there to make their day a little easier. Whether it’s braving a January blizzard to pick up a patient in the Adirondacks, or stopping by the drug store on the way home, he lives to serve, and our community is stronger as a result.”
Employees of the Quarter were presented with a dish garden, gift certificates, a memento pin, and a designated parking space for the next three months.
