The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence announced that Lynn Pietroski, chief operating officer, is the recipient of The Arc New York’s Marc N. Brandt Exceptional Leadership Award. This award was presented on April 29, during the State-wide, virtual Board of Governors meeting.
"Lynn is a dedicated leader and her energy, enthusiasm, and drive are contagious," stated Howard Ganter, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. "Lynn is respected by the team as an exceptional mentor because she constantly improves her knowledge and actively supports staff to hone their leadership abilities."
Named in honor of State Executive Director, Marc N. Brandt, who retired in 2014 after 32 years of service, The Arc New York grants this award annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership ability and commitment to the mission of the organization, while positively impacting the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Pietroski's leadership has been instrumental in bringing the agency together during its merger process. She is responsible for the oversight of all program and service-related activities, ensuring that they are person centered, effective and efficient.
Pietroski has enhanced the agency’s mission in countless ways, such as starting case management in the agency preschool, becoming the Prime Contractor for all Federal border station cleaning contracts along the St. Lawrence River, and expanding self-directed services.
She serves on the Community Services Board, Work Force Development board in Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, is President of the Heather Freeman Foundation, on the Board of the North Country Family Health Center, and past President of the CREDO board.
