Trifle time
CANTON: TAUNY invites the community to stop by to sample different versions of English Trifle and learn more about this holiday tradition; “A Taste of Trifle” will take place 1-3 p.m., The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St.; trifle is a traditional English dessert (most likely originating in Scotland), referenced in cookbooks as early as the 16th century, consists of layers of cake, custard, fruit and/or jam, whipped cream, and a touch of spirits (usually sherry) to add a spark; tauny.org.
