CANTON: Canton Free Library hosting vehicular mayhem through play of the game Gaslands!, 6 p.m., main floor; tabletop game of post-apocalyptic vehicular mayhem; with fast and cinematic rules, it is designed to be played with toy cars, allowing players to ram, skid and race their way through the wreckage of a burnt-out Earth; no cost to play; materials provided.
Community conversations
CANTON: “Community conversations” topic: “Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End,” best-selling book by Atul Gawandebook; 6:30-8 p.m.; Canton Free Library; hosted by Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley and Canton Free Library; discussion on facing difficult treatment decisions and how to have conversations ahead of a medical crisis; copies of “Being Mortal” can be obtained through the North Country Library System.

Open house
CANTON: St. Lawrence County BOCES Agricultural Studies Academy will host an open house, 5-6:30 p.m., Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm, 2043B State Highway 68; join Ag Academy learners, staff and 4-legged friends for an evening showcase of the academy’s daily work ethic, ag industry projects, and seasonal work around the farm; families, friends, school staff and prospective students are all encouraged to attend.
