One Hour One Work

Fintistic fish

Green town hall

POTSDAM: Students, community members, and local leaders are hosting a town hall at Potsdam Town Hall community room, 18 Elm St., 6-8 p.m., to kickoff the next phase of the campaign for the Green New Deal; organized by NC350 and Sunrise, a community organizing movement working with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to push the Green New Deal; event is one of 250 similar town halls being held around the country on the Road to a Green New Deal tour this spring.

Art show reception

POTSDAM: Art Museum at SUNY Potsdam will feature winning works by students from 11 local districts, with the debut of the 2019 St. Lawrence County High School Art Show, 5-7 p.m., Gibson Gallery; exhibition will be on display through Friday, June 14; admission to the museum is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Boating Safety

MASSENA: The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer Boating Safety Certificate Courses at Nicandri Nature Center, 5-9 p.m.$35 per person, family rates available for 3 or more family members; no need to preregister; must attend both May 22 and May 23 to earn certificate; bring pen, drink and snack recommended; 19 Robinson Bay Rd, Massena.

Bickford oil painting

CANTON: Wilson Bickford will guide participants of all skill levels through creation of a landscape oil painting. The May class will be painting “Storm Alert”; $50 supply fee, payable upon arrival covers the cost of all supplies.
