POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Library is offering two free technology courses for seniors through Senior Planet starting June 10.
Both are multi-week programs and meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. Registration is mandatory.
The program Work! is a 10-week course that teaches skills and knowledge to search for jobs and succeed in the workforce in the digital age. Students will learn how to age-proof their resume, write a modern resume and cover letter using Google docs templates, and how to use job search websites. The course also covers tips for writing professional emails, emailing attachments, uploading files, and how to ace a video interview. Space is limited. Students must be 60+ to register.
Prerequisites: Students must have an email address they can use and should be comfortable using a computer to navigate websites and search for information on the Internet.

Introduction to Digital Culture is a 5-week course exploring the growing role of the Internet in everyday life. By the end of this course, students will know how to connect more easily, avoid scams and fraud, identify reliable health resources, and virtually attend cultural events and museum exhibits. This course will give students the chance to meaningfully practice skills learned in a Basics or Essentials course. Space is limited. Students must be 60+ to register.
Prerequisites: This is a PC-based course. Students should have already taken computer basics or computer essentials, or be somewhat comfortable using a computer. You must also have an email address.
