SLC Arts welcomes participants to Arts Entrepreneurship Bootcamp

CANTON — SLC Arts is offering professional development opportunity for artists – Arts Entrepreneurship Bootcamp.

This 6-week intensive course will equip artists with the knowledge and skills to turn their passion for art into a successful business.

The event will be held Feb. 14-March 23, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8 p.m. at the IDA Building, 19 Commerce Lane.

Classes will be led by Catherine LaPointe Vollmer, owner of Lionheart Graphics. The program will feature guest instructors and panels, as well as peer critiques and Q & A sessions.

Topics covered will include:

Business basics, finances, budgeting & taxes

Branding and finding your niche

Artist statements, elevator pitches & networking

Pricing & selling your work

Websites, social media & marketing

Diversifying your income

This class is based on a pay-what-you-can registration. There is a $50 minimum fee to register, and a suggested donation that is commensurate with your financial status. This unique learning opportunity is valued at $1,000. Donations are not required to participate in the class, but any donation amount is appreciated.
