UPDATE: Rocktober Fest rescheduled, haunted houses, 'Highway to Horror' planned in Massena this month

MASSENA – A downtown Rocktober Fest, haunted houses and a “Highway to Horror” are all planned Halloween events in Massena this October.

• The Rocktober Fest  event planned Oct. 16 has been postponed until Friday, October 29 from 5-8 p.m., due to inclement weather. Rocktober Fest is being hosted for the first time in downtown Massena with trick or treating for children dressed in costumes, face painting, pumpkins for carving and painting and bounce houses. Also planned is music by Motley 315 and a beer garden hosted by Maple Brewing

• Massena Schine Haunted House will be open from 1-9 p.m. Sat., Oct. 16, at the old Schine Theater, downtown Massena. It will also be open from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 22, 23, 29, and 30. Cost is $5 per person, and money raised will go to restoration of the theatre’s marquee.

• Temples Halloween Haunt will be offered again for the 8th year, with opening night this Saturday, Oct. 16. This year’s haunting event will take place at the Massena Chamber of Commerce, 16 Church St. The evening will start with a kid-friendly hour from 6-7 p.m., followed by a “full on scare time” from 7-10 p.m. Cost is $5. The event will also be offered Oct. 22, 23, 29 and 30.

• “Highway to Horror” will be held at St. Lawrence Centre in the Old Bon-ton Oct. 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 from 6-10 p.m. The cost is $15. Tickets can be purchased online at https://highwaytohorror.fearticket.com/event/orderticket/eventid/890
