POTSDAM — The Potsdam Presbyterian Church is offering a 6-week class called The Difficult Conversations Lab, where we will learn and practice skills to help navigate conversations that seem thorny, emotionally charged, and appear to have insurmountable barriers.
Over the 6 weeks, students will engage in difficult conversation topics and practice:
• building a courageous space and developing trust
• listening and speaking with empathy
• practicing patience and critical thinking before responding
• reflecting then articulating or rephrasing our thoughts and feelings
Classes will be held every Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. for 6 weeks, beginning June 1.
The cost for the class will be $60, and scholarships are available.
Our lab facilitator will be SUNY Canton professor, Raamitha Pillay, a North Country educator for 25 years.
To sign up, email Pastor Katrina Hebb at revhebb@gmail.com.
No affiliation with the Presbyterian Church or Christianity is necessary.
