POTSDAM – The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce seeks floats and participants for Summer Festival Parade.
As part of the 44th Annual Potsdam Summer Festival, there will be a Community/Local Heroes Parade on Saturday July 16 starting at 5 p.m.
“We are seeking individuals and groups who would like to be a part of this year’s parade,” says Executive Director Marylee Ballou. “They can walk, dance, or ride a float. There is no cost to participate unless you will be part of the float contest.”
The parade celebrates local heroes (individuals or groups) and this theme should be reflected in the floats.
All floats to be judged will pay a $20 entry fee. “Those entry fees will be combined to create a donation to a local non-profit or charity organization which will be named by the winner of the float contest. This is a great way to celebrate all our local heroes and give back to the community as well,” said chamber Board President Rob Bicknell.
