OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting registration for its 2019 summer sports camps Monday, June 3.
Sign-ups are at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center, 100 Riverside Ave., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All youth must sign-up at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center before they are allowed to participate in any Parks and Recreation Department sponsored sports camp.

Cost for each camp is $25. The department does run a “Sports Special” so if a child wants to sign up for three sports camps (including swimming lessons), the cost would be $60, a savings of $15.
2019 sports camps include:
• Track: OFA Track Coach John Tebo will conduct the 20th annual Track Camp for boys and girls grades 2-7 at the OFA track from June 27-28, July 1-3 from 9-10:30 a.m. Activities include: high and long jump, shot put, discus, hurdles and relays.
• Gymnastics: Staff will conduct gymnastics for boys and girls, ages 4-12, at the Lockwood Arena July 8-12. Ages 4-6 will go from 1-2:30 p.m. and ages 7-12 will run from 2:30-4 p.m. Activities include pommel horse, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.
• Soccer: Recreation staff will offer instruction in all phases of this sport at Montroy Park on July 8-12. Boys and girls ages 4-15 can enhance skills through small group instruction and intramural games. Youth in grades K-2 will got from 9-10 a.m.; grades 3-5 from 10-11 a.m. and grades 6-8 will participate from 11 a.m. to noon.
• Cheerleading Camp: Staff will conduct the 21st annual Cheerleading Camp for girls’ ages 4-12 on July 15-19. Ages 4-7 will go from 9-10:30 a.m. while ages 8-12 will go from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Lockwood Arena. Cheerleading is an integral part of sports teams’ success.
• Boys’/Girls’ Lacrosse: Our 15th annual camp, for boys and girls ages 6-15 will stress the development of lacrosse skills including: passing, catching, attack, defense and goaltending. Those participating in this camp should have lacrosse sticks, gloves and helmets/goggles. The camp will be held at Montroy Park from July 15-19 from 9-10:30 a.m.
• Baseball: Staff will conduct the baseball camp for boys ages 6-12 from July 29-Aug. 2 from 1-3 p.m. at Montroy Park. The camp will stress developing better hitting, fielding and pitching skills. Intramural games will be held daily.
• Hockey: Staff will direct an off-ice hockey camp at the Richard G. Lockwood Civic Center for youths 6-12 on Aug. 5-9 from 9-10:30 a.m. Camp will include off-ice training, conditioning, shooting, face-offs and small games. There will be contests in the following categories: most accurate shooter, fastest stick handler in obstacle course.
• Girls’/Boys’ Basketball: The annual Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Camp for grades K-8 will be held from Aug. 12-16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Skill development will be stressed including fundamentals in passing, dribbling and shooting. This year, the camp will be held at the outdoor courts at Father Martin Field with a rain location of the Lockwood Arena. Participants in grades K-2 will go from 9-10 a.m./grades 3-5 will go from 10-11 a.m. and grades 6-8 will go from 11 a.m. to noon.
