Ogdensburg library to begin offering programs for kids, teens

OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Public Library will offer a range of programming in September.

"We will be restarting in-person programming during the second half of September with a few changes. All programs will now require registration, masks and will be held outside in library park whenever possible. We will also be continuing our teen programming on Discord," said a statement from the library.

Currently, the library is not open to the public beyond the programs listed below and curbside pickup.

Curbside pickup is available Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursdays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Programs include:

• Toddler Music and Movement on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 15-Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. in library park or library auditorium in the event of rain. Free. Shake your sillies out and wiggle your waggles away during this preschool movement class. You can register for either Tuesdays or Thursdays by calling 315-393-4325. All participants must be registered and wear a mask during the program.

• Family Story Time on Wednesdays from Sept. 16-Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. in library park or library auditorium in the event of rain. Free. Families will sit together on the library lawn and listen to stories, sing songs and do crafts. Register for this event by calling 315-393-4325. All participants must be registered and wear a mask during the program.

• Picnic Book Club, Friday, Sept 18 at 4 p.m. in library park. Free. Read "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll as a family and come to library park for a book discussion and a game of croquet. Register and reserve a copy of the book by calling 315-393-4325. All participants must be registered and wear a mask during the program.

• Tie Dye in the Park, Friday, Sept 25, 4 p.m. in library park, free. Bring your own shirt! We will be providing dye and instructions in Library Park. Call 315-393-4325 to register. All participants must be registered and wear a mask during the program.

• Teen Anime Club, Fridays, 5 p.m. on Discord at https://discord.gg/Mj6yVeE, free. Watch and discuss anime.

• Teen Gaming Club, Mondays at 5 p.m. on Discord at https://discord.gg/Mj6yVeE, free. Play and discuss table top, video and roleplaying games.
