Hepburn Library of Lisbon continues to offer books, programs for all ages

LISBON – The Hepburn Library of Lisbon has been open for in-house browsing since last September, as well as pick-up for patrons who prefer to request items in advance.

No appointment is necessary, but visitors must follow NYS COVID guidelines.

Each Monday the library offers a new Take and Make Craft project geared toward children. Families can take home the packets and complete the crafts at their convenience, or craft along with the library at 9 a.m. Friday mornings via Lisbon Hepburn Library Facebook page. Story Time is offered every Wednesday at 9 a.m. via Facebook also. Both videos are available for viewers to watch at their convenience any time.

Tote bags with free books and art supplies for families with small children are still available as part of the library’s Talking is Teaching program. It focuses on early literacy for children birth to age five.

The library is slowly returning to in-person programming. It has been hosting American Red Cross blood drives, card-making classes, and painting classes. A mammogram screening van is planned for April 27, with details to follow.

The community room is available for private rentals, with agreement to abide by NYS and library policies on gatherings.

The library is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3-8 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Inquiries on programs, services, or community room availability may be directed by private message to the library’s Facebook page, by email to lislib@ncls.org or by phone at 315-393-0111, said Library Director Michelle McLagan.
