Former BMX racer to speak about substance abuse in Waddington

WADDINGTON – A program about addiction and drug abuse, “Shredding the Stigma Surrounding Substance Use,” will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Whittaker Park and Civic Center.

The event will feature former pro BMX racer Tony Hoffman, who will share his story and path to recovery.

Several local families will also share their experiences with substance use and there will be a dedication balloon launch.

Attendees are advised to bring a blanket and a lawn chair.

The event is a smoke free event and will have designated smoking areas.

Seaway Valley Prevention Council, Reality Check, and St. Lawrence County Partners 4 Substance Use Prevention are hosting the program.
