EDWARDS – The Edwards-Knox Central School Drama Club will present “Dear Edwina,” a one-act musical, 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday Apr. 1 and 2 in the school auditorium.

The play is about a young girl, Edwina Spoonapple, who hopes to be the next advice-giver extraordinaire such as Dear Abby. She answers questions from her questionnaire at her weekly musical revue in her parents' garage.

At this week's Dear Edwina show, a talent scout from the Kalamazoo Advice-a-palooza Festival will be in attendance and Edwina hopes to catch her eye and a spot at the advice giving festival so she will finally have something of her own to display on her folks' fridge along with her siblings' academic and musical accomplishments.

Samantha LaPoint plays Edwina. Other cast members include Kennedy Bell as Annie, Darryl Backus as Scott, Patricia Colton as Becky, Alison Thompson as Kelli, Scott Whitmarsh as Bobby, Katelynd Hill as Billy / Jenny; Harlee Marschat as Carrie/Ann VanBuren; Anisa Hotaling as Katie; Michelle Whitmash as Lars / Cordell; and Elizabeth LaPoint as Henri’s mother.

The stage crew includes Kayla Powers, Tyler LaPlante and Alexander McDonald.

The family-friendly show full of music was written by Marcy Heisler with music by Zina Goldrich.
