CLAYTON – The Antique Boat Museum will once again host the Antique Raceboat Regatta Friday, Aug. 13 through Sunday, Aug. 15 at the museum’s harbor in Clayton.
This year’s regatta will celebrate the tenth running of these rare outboards, classic hydroplanes, and antique inboards.
The regatta opens to the public Friday, with raceboat flybys and practice runs as well as speaker forums featuring veteran boat drivers, mechanics and owners with personal tales to share. One-Design launches, known as the Number Boats, will be on display at the docks and the original #13 George Boldt raceboat will be featured on display in the museum lobby.
Open pits for public viewing will be available 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors can check out the marketplace, historical displays and the museum as well.
Admission, which includes access to all museum exhibits: museum members, free; adults, $15 daily or $30 for 3-day pass; youth (ages 7-17), $10 daily or $20 for 3-day pass; family, $45 daily (no 3-day rate); military with ID, free; military family, $30; military spouse, $10; military youth (7-17), $5; children 6 and under, free.
