CANTON — The village of Canton is hosting an online Zoom presentation regarding a community choice aggregation program which would allow local residents to choose where the electricity they consume is being produced.
“The village is considering the idea of Community Choice Aggregation, with the goal of having more say in where our electrical energy comes from, and ultimately saving money and lessening our carbon footprint,” said Village Trustee Klaus Proemm.
At the village’s April 6 Canton Sustainability Committee meeting an CCA info presentation will be offered at 5 p.m. by Jeff Domanski, Hudson Valley Energy, and Jennifer Perry, ANCA/NYSERDA.
All interested residents and others living outside the village are invited to attend.

The village board of trustees will host a public hearing at its April 21 meeting (Apr 21) there will be a public hearing at 6:20 p.m. on the first step of the CCA process, a resolution enabling the village to begin the CCA process by gathering more information both for the board and public on how CCA would operate and impact the community, Proemm said.
