The Any Music Singers will present two performances of “Out of This World!,” a multi-media concert featuring a variety of music about the planets, stars, and our galaxy.
The concerts also will feature guest astronomer Aileen O’Donoghue, who will intermingle engaging commentary and images about celestial phenomena.
The concert will first be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Peterson-Kermani Concert Hall on the St. Lawrence University campus.
The second performance will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at The Forum in the student center on the Clarkson University campus. Both concerts are free.
Dr. Aileen O’Donoghue is the priest professor of physics at St. Lawrence University. She has conducted research in radio astronomy at observatories around the world. She is also known to local audiences through her writing and appearances on North Country Public Radio, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, and the SOAR Program.
The Any Music Singers is an open community chorus, directed by Paul Siskind. Formed in 2012, TAMS attracts singers from around the North Country, who gather together simply for the joy of communal music-making.
The group’s repertoire is as diverse as the backgrounds and musical tastes of our singers, and includes music from a variety of styles, eras, and cultures. They often perform concerts that support projects and organizations within our communities.
