TUPPER LAKE – The annual Woodsmen’s Days, with lumberjack competitions, chainsaw carving, and a parade, are set for July 13 to 15 at the Tupper Lake Municipal Park.
The traditional welcome event on Friday night will be an informal barbecue at the Park Restaurant with live classic rock from Bitter Sweet. This is always open to the public and the entire family is welcome.
This year’s parade theme is Live, Work, Play. The parade will kick off Saturday’s events at 10 a.m. with kids of all ages marching down Park Street to the Municipal Park.
In addition to the lumberjack contest, and the area’s largest horse pull, there will be live music all Saturday afternoon from Winter Camp led by local musician Jamie Savage. Games for kids are scheduled throughout the weekend with a grand finale magic show on Sunday afternoon. They are also featuring a 57-foot inflatable obstacle course for the entire family’s enjoyment, as well as a dunk tank for special entertainment.
They are again offering weekend passes for pre-sale at discount prices. Contact the Association at (518) 359-9444 or tlwoodsmens@gmail.com.
Proceeds from the event will be contributed to local non-profit organizations such as the Adirondack Medical Center, Tupper Lake Rescue Squad, Tupper Lake Food Pantry and the Piercefield Fire Department.
