CANTON -- African musician Samite Mulondo will perform at St. Lawrence University on Friday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. in the North Country Japanese Garden, in the courtyard of Sykes Residence Hall.
The event, open to the public free of charge, will be held in the Common Room of Sykes in case of rain.
Mulondo, Ugandan by birth, is based in Ithaca, and recently completed his eighth commercial album. He is trained in African and Western flute and is also an accomplished singer, composer and vocalist, as well as an instrumentalist of the kalimba (finger-piano), marimba (wooden xylophone) and litungu (seven-stringed Kenyan instrument).
Mulondo will also conduct workshops and visit a variety of classes during his two-day residency at SLU.
