Two Clarkson teams compete at 12th annual New York Business Plan Competition

POTSDAM — Two teams from Clarkson University placed at the 12th annual New York Business Plan Competition held May 7.

Both teams captured ranks in the Infrastructure, First Responder & Defense category at the competition.

KLAW Industries, a combined Clarkson University and Binghamton University team took first place in the category for a plan for developing a process for contaminated glass for concrete manufacturers

Clarkson University team Palmer Technologies LLC took third place in the same category.

A total of 607 students competed at the competition from across the state on 239 teams from 55 colleges and universities, said a press release from Clarkson. Every team competed in one of six industry tracks: AgTech & Food, Infrastructure, First Responder & Defense, MedTech & Life Sciences, Education & Well-Being, Consumer & Business Products and Software & Services.

Business plans were judged by panels of business and industry professionals from across the nation.

First, second and third place winners received cash prizes and ongoing mentorship to advance their student-led ventures.
