POTSDAM -- The Raquette Lions Club recently made a $10,000 donation toward the North Country Children’s Museum’s second floor expansion project.
“We are pleased to present a check for $10,000 toward the North Country Children’s Museum Expansion Project," said Laura Gregory, treasurer of Raquette River Lions Club. "This is a combination of funds from the local Raquette River Lions Club, a grant from the Brandel-Murphy Youth Foundation of Lions, and a matching grant from the New York State and Bermuda Lions Foundation. We appreciate the museum’s efforts to provide a fun and safe environment for youth to learn in our community.”
This donation brings the museum closer to its $3,500,000 fundraising goal. The Children’s Museum has raised $3,060,000 including this donation and renovation of the building is in progress.
They anticipate an opening in the summer of 2024 if all fundraising goals are met.
"We are really excited about the new exhibits coming to the second floor and we’re so grateful to the Lion’s Club members for supporting the museum’s expansion with this generous gift," said Sharon Vegh Williams, executive director of the museum.”
