Each year, the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce selects an outstanding business to receive the “Business of the Year” award.
For 2020, the Chamber chose to present unconventional awards in response to the whirlwind year that we all experienced.
Each award recipient was selected from a long list of nominations submitted through social media and email.
“Our member businesses have worked harder than ever through unprecedented times,” said Rob Bicknell, chamber vice president. “We are happy to recognize these businesses for going above and beyond throughout the Pandemic.”
The 12 categories are filled with 11 Potsdam businesses that were recognized for their perseverance and hard work by their community.
“It’s heartwarming to read through the comments and experiences that were had at these businesses this year,” said Kurstin Stowell, executive director. “Selecting the recipients was not easy, and I couldn’t imagine how we would have ever selected just one business of the year for 2020.”
This project was just another example of how important local businesses are, and just how much they contribute to the overall success (and health) of the community.
