MASSENA – The high water levels in the region’s rivers and streams are affecting shipping on the St. Lawrence Seaway, according to an alert from Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System.
Due to high water levels, mariners in the St. Lawrence River Great Lakes-to-Montreal section of the Seaway are warned to be aware of their wakes, particularly when navigating close to shore.
Seaway authorities will continue to closely monitor the water levels and advise shippers of any changes, the announcement said.
