Curaleaf to launch home medicinal pot delivery for area that includes St. Lawrence County

St. Lawrence County patients who get their marijuana prescriptions from Curaleaf will soon be able to have the medicine delivered to their homes.

Starting on April 8, Curaleaf will provide medical cannabis patients living in the rural North Country through a new home delivery service.

The free program, which will run two days a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, will be available to registered patients and their caregivers living in St. Lawrence, Clinton, Franklin, Essex, Warren, St and Saratoga counties.

Enrolling in the home delivery service involves a few steps. Patients can call Curaleaf Plattsburgh at 518-930-4340 or to visit the dispensary to be guided through the process.

To receive home delivery, patients must create an account with CanPay, a cashless payment platform, and place their order with Curaleaf at least 48 hours in advance of delivery.

Medicine is then delivered via a secured, unmarked vehicle driven by Curaleaf security guards and tracked remotely by additional security personnel. Payment is processed upon delivery. There is a minimum of $125 per order.

“Accessibility is critical to operating an effective and successful medical cannabis program,” Michelle Bodner, president of Curaleaf New York, said in a prepared statement. “Many patients located in the North Country live more than an hour away from the nearest brick-and-mortar dispensary, making free delivery service a necessity for these individuals.”
