POTSDAM – Community Bank, 64-70 Market St., will be one of eight branches across the state helping to kick off the 2019 Empire State Winter Games by participating in an Olympic-style torch relay.
The game’s torch will take two routes across the state and stop at select branches, including Potsdam at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, during its journey.
The routes will begin in New York City and Buffalo, meet in Malone and finish in Lake Placid.
The torch will be welcomed to each branch with a celebration hosted by bank team members, complete with a welcome banner, posters, balloons, a hot cocoa bar, games and giveaways.
Other participating branches include Gowanda, Waterloo, Cazenovia, Oneida, Ticonderoga, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.
Community Bank N.A. is the title sponsor for the 2019 Empire State Winter Games, which will be held in Lake Placid January 31 through February 3.
