OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Museum Kids Place will offer free summer camps and classes. All payments are due one week prior to the camp.

• Toddler painting class, June 30 from 10 to 11 a.m. This is for ages 2 to 4 and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. They will go step-by-step on how to create a painting using acrylic paint. Each child will bring home a painted canvas board masterpiece. Cost for non-museum member is $10 per student. The cost for members is $5. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Children's painting class, July 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. This is for ages 5 to 8 and a permission slip is needed for student to attend class alone. They will go step-by-step on how to create a painting using acrylic paint. Each child will bring home a painted canvas board masterpiece. Cost for non-museum member is $20 per student. The cost for members is $15. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Pre-teen painting class, July 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. for ages 9 to 12. Permission slip is needed for student to attend class alone. They will go step-by-step on how to create a painting using acrylic paint. Each child will bring home a painted canvas board masterpiece. Cost for non-museum member is $20 per student. The cost for members is $15. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Teen painting classes, Aug. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. for ages 13 to 16. Permission slip is needed for student to attend class alone They will go step-by-step on how to create a painting using acrylic paint. Each child will bring home a painted canvas board masterpiece. Cost for non-museum member is $20 per student. The cost for members is $15. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Week-long Wild Wild West Camp, July 11 to 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. daily for ages 5 to 9. Must sign up in advance. Permission slip needed for children to attend camp. Each day will include a new western-themed art project and playtime. There will be a trip to the museum, art projects, playtime and snacks. Cost is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Frederic Remington puppet program, July 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. for ages 3 to 6. Must sign up in advance. Permission slip needed for child to attend program. Attendees will make a puppet that goes along with a Frederic Remington painting and act out a puppet show with new characters. Cost for non-museum member is $10 per student. The cost for members is $5. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Make-your-own birdhouse program, July 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. for ages 6 to 9. Must sign up in advance. Permission slip needed for child to attend program. Participants will bird watch, view pictures of Frederic Remington's birds that he drew from life then create a birdhouse of recyclables to take home. Cost for non-museum member is $20 per student. The cost for members is $15. Space is limited to 15 children.

• Kid's Place tea party, Aug. 9 from noon to 4 p.m. They will sip tea (lemonade) along with art projects, games, playtime and snacks. This event is free to the public.

• “Drawing from Life” art camp, Aug. 22 to 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. for ages 11 to 14. Must sign up in advance. Permission slip needed for student to attend camp alone. Participants learn and experience drawing from life. Every day the group will be learning to draw from life in a different area. They will draw from the Frederic Remington Art Museum, its gardens, the St. Lawrence River, Library Park and the playground. Cost is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members. Space is limited to 15 children.
