Thomas Gerard Hunter, 60, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Calling hours for Thomas Gerard Hunter will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Ogdensburg immediately following calling hours.

Thomas passed away on March 23, 2024.

Arrangements are under the care of Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Thomas is survived by his son, Josh (Stacy) Hunter of Canton, NY; his daughter, Emily (Craig) Rogers of Sackets Harbor, NY; a brother, Wally Hunter of Ogdensburg, NY; sisters, Gail Hunter of Woolwich, Maine, Gretchen Ashley of Massena, and Charlene (Mike) Dawley of Ogdensburg; a granddaughter, Eva Rogers; his long-time friend, Cathy Weidner; and many nieces and nephews.

Thomas is predeceased by his parents, aunts, uncles, his nephew, Carson Hunter, and a sister, Judy Wylie Fox.

Thomas was born on May 22, 1963, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Wallace and Ruth (Weiler) Hunter.

He graduated from the Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1980.

Thomas first went to work as a Taxi driver before becoming a state correctional officer at the Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg.

Thomas enjoyed woodworking, tinkering, and spending time outdoors.
