POTSDAM — Potsdam town clerk Cindy Goliber was recently elected as the president of the Association of the Towns of New York State.
Goliber was previously the Association’s first Vice President.
She was elected at the Association’s annual meeting in February.
Goliber will take office May 1 and will preside over the AOT’s annual reorganization meeting later that month.
“It’s just a big honor to represent our county and our town,” Goliber told town board members at their meeting March 12. “I think I’m the first in the county to have represented the Association of Towns as an officer.”
According to its website, “the Association serves town governments by providing training programs, research and information services, technical assistance, legal services, insurance programs and a variety of publications to member towns.” The group also provides advocacy to town governments in Albany at the state government level.
