Nellie Clark, 98, Massena

MASSENA -- Nellie Clark, 98, of 247 Andrews Street, peacefully passed on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Nellie was born on July 27, 1925, in Owls Head, daughter of the late Wayne and Lois (Childs) Lester.

She attended local schools and married Gerald Clark in 1944 at the Cetenary United Methodist Church Malone. Gerald predeceased her in 2013.

She was a member of the Cetenary United Methodist Church Malone and the Massena Senior Citizens.

Nellie was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her family. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bingo and trips to the casino.

Nellie is survived by her children, Joyce (Kenneth) LaBuff of Plano, TX; Gerald Douglas (Penny) Clark of Malone; and Cheryl Lefeve of Louisville; her grandchildren, Carrie Clark, Thomas LaBuff, Christopher Clark, Eric (Brenda) Clark, Jennifer Lefeve, Jeremy Lefeve and Jordan (Richard) Barlow; her step grandchild, Nicole Guerin; her beloved great grandchildren, Camden, Matthew, and Andrew Barlow; Austin, Cody and Kaitlyn Clark; Landon and Tiegan Clark; and step great grandchildren, Cameron Guerin, Mikayla Boyea and Emily Brand.

She is also survived by her siblings, Wesley (Fay) Lester of Malone; Francis Lester of Ft. Covington; Lawrence (Janet) Lester of Onchiota; Richard (Cheryl) Lester of Constable; Isabelle (Bert) Smith of Ft. Covington and Gail Lester of Phoenicia.

Besides her parents Wayne and Lois, and her husband, Gerald. Nellie was also predeceased by her siblings Mary, Herbert, Clarence, Leslie and Robert Lester; son-in-law, Daniel Lefeve; and a step grandson, Jason Guerin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be announced.

Burial will be held privately at Morningside Cemetery in Malone.

Memorial donations may be made in Nellie’s memory to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or the Malone Callfiremen.
