Joyce M. Potts, 87, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Joyce M. Potts, age 87 of Ogdensburg passed away on Friday morning (April 12, 2024) at the North Country Nursing & Rehab Center in Massena.

Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Surviving is her sister Joanne Perkins of Ogdensburg; an adopted daughter, Patty Clay of Louisville, KY; cousins, Linda Covey of Heuvelton and Michael Gushea of Heuvelton; and a special friend, Janet Fisher of Ogdensburg.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, SGT Thomas E. Potts and a brother, Paul Legault.

Joyce was born on November 27, 1936, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Nepolian & Irene (Gushea) Legault.

She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and was later married to SGT Thomas E. Potts on Sept 25, 1959, in Louisville, KY.

Joyce worked as a nurses aid at Hepburn Hospital in 1960 and later as a supervisor for the Armed Forces Exchange Services (AFES) for 20 years in Fort Knox, KY.

Following her retirement she then went to work at the Longview Flower Shop in Radcliff, KY for a few years.

She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, visiting Canada, spending time with friends and enjoyed the St. Lawrence River.
