Frank B. Aldous Jr., 87, Hermon

HERMON -- Frank B. Aldous Jr., 87 of Hermon, died peacefully on March 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family and golden grand dogs.

Frank was born on September 14, 1936 in Pierrepont, to the late Frank and Flora Barkley Aldous Sr.

He attended Hermon and then graduated from Knox Memorial School in 1953 and went into the Air Force achieving several technical certifications.

While in the service he was stationed in Germany where he met and married Elfriede Schwitalla celebrating 61 years of marriage.

Frank worked at Corning Glass as an electrician till his retirement in 1999.

While at Corning he enjoyed the friendships he built and was committed to responding anytime a call came in where his knowledge and ability to fix anything was called upon.

After his retirement he was a school bus driver for First Student in Lisbon where he would joke with the students, always looking to enjoy a laugh.

More importantly he enjoyed sharing memories talking about the sporting events from his daughters' sports teams. There was never an inning or period / play he forgot and shared those stories lovingly. Thank you to all who listened.

In later years Frank enjoyed hockey games and finding concession stand hot dogs.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Elfriede; daughters, Carmen and her husband, Randy Camp of Canton, Heidi and her husband, Gary Fick of Maryland, Brigitte and her husband, Dean Anninos of Virginia; sisters, Vivian Wilson of Elbridge, Jeanette Jones; grandchildren Darren Camp and his fiance, Ashley Anderson of Canton, Brittany Camp and her fiance, Nick Vega of Florida, Andrew Fick of Maryland and Jay Anninos of Virginia.

Allen-Denesha Funeral Home, DeKalb Junction, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Services will be private.
